Jim currently serves as Associate Director at the Penn State Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research (MCOR) and Director of Special Initiatives for the Shale Training and Education Center (ShaleTEC). He has extensive experience teaching all aspects of oil and gas development ranging from shale economics to supply chain and drilling basics to environmental compliance. Jim’s educational outreach programs have encompassed a variety of stakeholders including the general public, industry, business, government, education, and non-governmental organizations. His research efforts have focused on workforce requirements for shale development, shale economics, decline curve analysis, industry best-practices, and supply chain development. Jim also brings a strong background in community and economic development to questions about social license and shale development.
