Re: Ministerios
[edit]Hola,
Saludos.
--Zaqarbal (talk) 11:43, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hola Luis,
Saludos –Xauxa (talk) 19:56, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 18:51, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Authorization for use of image
[edit]Hi, Xauxa!
The picture of St. Teresa of Avila is wonderful! We are publishing a book about one of the parts of the Complete Works of St. Teresa, called "Foundations." We would like your permission to use this image on the cover. Please could you send us in a better resolution? Thank you so much!! paula@loyola.com.br
- I am sorry to say that there is no higher resolution of that image (I suppose you mean the statue). It was taken in times when I had to spare my memory cards. When I pass Ávila I can take it oncemore, but I have no such journey planned for in the nearest future, so of course it will be too late for you. --Xauxa (talk) 23:36, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hej! :) Xauxa (talk) 22:15, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

Hello Xauxa, I wonder if you could tell me which building you were taking a picture of here? I would like to know so I can put the pic onto on the English WP Brickwork page, and be exact about its identity. It's a nice pic; well done!
Jonathanriley (talk) 21:00, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
Update:
Well there you go -- your photo is on there now:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brickwork#Monk_bond
... but it would be much nicer if I could mention the building to which it belongs. If you are worried that the building is a private house, then you could just say so -- that would be no problem for me at all! Then I could edit the article to say 'A private building, St Martins Road, etc. etc.'
Anyhow, thanks for uploading the pic to the WM Commons, its a great pic. :)
Jonathanriley (talk) 16:07, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Jonathan
- I have put coordinates in the description of the picture. In google-maps you can spot this row/file of small private houses, built in English style. The picture was taken five years ago, but maybee it was the second house on left handside. At least I now could see some grapes growing, looking through the fence (in street-view). Very nice looking houses. An interesting article you have done, I have to read it more closely. Xauxa (talk) 10:46, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- Why don´t you consider to use this File:Arvika 10skift munkforband.jpg, instead of the present one from Arvika. It will show the way the corners are made, and it is the same building, Former Post Office. The picture you have chosen gives the texture, but I perhaps should not have made it so tilted. Theres a cropped version too, but not sharp. Xauxa (talk) 10:55, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message Xauxa. I do like the alternate pic you've linked, and i take your point about the highlighting of the quoins there. However, the pic that's in the WP page at the moment is nice for conveying those great diagonals swishing down the building, which are obviously differently derived diagonals from those of the New Malden Library building in the pic just above. The corner shot just doesn't get these diagonals at all.

- Quite interesting, alls those bonds. The 10-layers monk bond is not so easy to find, at least not in such great area as is shown in the Former Post Office, Arvika. However, if I get close to one, I will take a better picture. Xauxa (talk) 11:07, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

- The camera was loaded with roll film, 9 x 12 cm. This will give you a hint of the measures. Unfortunately the camera is stored away in some archive box, not sufficiently localizated yet, I will fulfill the measurements in due course. (a intelligent guess would be around 12x15x19 cm. --Xauxa (talk) 21:59, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hej,
