Please protect my file File:CAUCASIA~Vegetation Land Cover with ethnic borders~2.jpg from interference by the participant User:Iktsokh who is trying to change my original file and deliberately draws incorrect international borders[1] between Armenia, Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan. This is a serious violation by the participant User:Iktsokh,as such actions on the map lead to an additional escalation of tensions in relations between countries and nations in the explosive Caucasus region. Unfortunately,you are saying the wrong things. Iktsokh did not correct anything, but only spoiled my work by drawing a light blue line of the border of the Azerbaijani republic where it does not pass, namely on the section of the Armenian-Iranian border.

I show the borders of Nakhichevan in the color that I consider necessary, namely green. Since there are two autonomous Muslim republics in the Caucasus, which are named not by ethnicity, but by their historical name, these are Daghestan and Nakhichevan.

I have no idea what point you're trying to make. Last I checked, Wikimedia Commons is not the United Nations.

Now, let's get back to the point.

First off, no one "owns" a file on here. Other people can make small good faith edits to your file.

Second off, you made no attempt at dispute resolution. You didn't leave a polite note on the talk page. You didn't politely reach out Iktsosh. You certainly didn't have a discussion. You need to do all these things before an administrator will consider intervention.

Third off, despite the above, your own version was the original. In case of dispute, Commons prefers to keep the original character of the image. You can politely ask him and let him know that the COM:OVERWRITE policy states he should create a new version under another name version if he disagrees.

Finally, please read w:WP:BATTLEGROUND. You attacked me above; you also immediately accused people. I understand this process is frustrating, and this is an emotionally fraught topic, but being nasty won't help your cause. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 18:47, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
