er Cambrian of North America (see Walcott, Fauna of LowerCambrian, pi. xciv, figs. 2a, 2b, pp. 642 and 575). It also agreesclosely with Bergerons figures and those of Herr Monkes(taf. 7, figs. 11, 12, and 13). Several other pygidia occur onsmaller slabs of yellow limestone, obtained by the Eev. S. Coulino-at Kiao-chow, North China, though not from Yen-tsy-yai, but oneof the other fossil-yielding quarries in the Shantung province.-There are also some additional Cephalopods which it is hoped mayyield further information as to the age of these beds when Mr. G. C.Crick is enabled again to take them up. It would be very agreeable to review in detail Herr Monkes 1 Etude de quelques Trilobites de Chine: Bull. Soc. Geol. Slab of Limestone covered with remains of Trilobites of Upper Cambrian age, from Yen-tsy-yai, Shantung, China. Obtained by the Rev. Samuel Couling, M.A., etc. Dr. G. J. Hinde—Fragments of Chert from N. China. 255 species from North China, but I feel before doing so the need ofbetter and more complete specimens at my command upon which tofound a revision. I can, therefore, only express my thanks toHerr Monke for the valuable work he has accomplished with thevery fragmentary material at his command. I have also to tendermy best thanks to the Kev. Samuel Couling for entrusting mewith all the specimens he was able to obtain and presenting themto the Geological Department of the British Museum (NaturalHistory), Cromwell Eoad.
